"The GOP can't win without the support of minorities" this is the
narrative. The question coming from that is, how can they attract people
who vote democrat?
The answer is, they can't.
Their party isn't based on race, it's based on ideology. Sure, there's a
large overlap between the two, but fundamentally, it's their ideology
that's turning people off to them.
It just so happens that their ideology stems from an earlier time (which
is what they want to "conserve") where race actually did matter, to the
point where you were black if you had 1/32nd African ancestry.
This is a transracial problem; we exist right now in the grey area
between the racial and the postracial societies. The foundation of
conservative ideology is a relic of the racial society, and republicans
are beginning to understand that there is no way that they can win in a
postracial society, but they can't understand why. The GOP is aging, beginning to die
out, and eventually the Democrats will split into two new parties. For a
time, we will see 3 major parties in the US, but over time it will
decay back into a 2-party system.
We are living in the transracial era.
